CLARA'S PLAY DAY 2015

We feel that the 2015 event exceeded our goals in many ways. Evidently the success of this event was greatly dependent not only on people that organized and worked behind the scenes, but also on all our partners, small business that par cipated and also on all the volunteers. The board of Directors is forever grateful to all the volunteers involved in any shape or form. Thanks for believing in our event and making it even more special.

COMMITTEE & BOARD OF DIRECTORS

With an outstanding program of activities and entertainment, we welcomed more than 2,000 people on the sunny afternoon of August 23rd, 2015 at the Ernest Lindner Park. The main idea of Clara’s Play Day is to give back to the community. With that in mind, the event offered a variety of games and entertainment for children of all ages, bouncy castles, princesses, clowns and all for FREE. This was a great opportunity for the community of Saskatoon to enjoy a fun afternoon with friends and family at no cost.

2015 EVENT SUMMARY

The 2015 event surpassed our expectations. Our second Clara’s Day at the Park could not have gone better. We had an amazing turn out with as estimated 2000 visitors during the length of the event. In 2015 we significantly surpassed our first year participant numbers, from 2014. In 2015 due to increased sponsorship, we were able to offer more attractions, as well as bring in team of performers and entertainers. The 2000 plus visitors had a wonderful experience, and we could not have achieved this without the help of our generous sponsors.

BALLOON RELEASE MEMORIAL

The idea of the balloon release memorial started after an innocent but beautiful gesture of one of Clara’s best friend, Malu Prado. Malu and Clara were both born in 2011 and they were growing up together like sisters. Shortly after the accident, Malu was attending a birthday party and she was given a balloon. Malu accidently let the balloon go and got upset, then she calmed down when she realized the balloon could reach Clara in heaven. Now whenever she sees a balloon she believes it is for Clara.
